Hi, I’m Jess Howard, the owner and lead inspector at Gemstone Home Inspections. With more than 13 years of experience in engineering, construction, and property inspection, I bring a deep understanding of how homes are built and how to identify potential concerns before they become costly problems.
Before starting Gemstone, I worked as a civil engineer and architect, specializing in commercial building issues, utilities, construction inspection, and bridge inspections. That experience shaped my approach to residential inspections — with a focus on structural integrity, safety, and long-term value.
My passion for homes started early through remodel projects with family and volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity. Those experiences taught me the value of quality workmanship and the importance of creating safe, well-maintained spaces for families.
When I’m not inspecting homes, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring the outdoors, and traveling to new places. My goal is to make the inspection process clear and stress-free, giving my clients confidence during one of life’s biggest decisions.
